Veneers

Make Your Smile Look Better!

Dental veneers offer an excellent solution for people who want to enhance their smile. Due to their general effectiveness and ease of use, they are a very popular cosmetic procedure.

Veneers are excellent for treating crowding problems, chipped teeth, worn down teeth, or areas of discoloration. Veneers are thin shells placed over the front of the teeth to improve their appearance, and they will conceal any visible flaws and help the teeth appear straight and even. A small amount of enamel may need to be removed from the teeth before veneers can be placed.

Veneers can be adjusted to match your tooth color and are applied with minimal discomfort. Veneers are durable and strong, so they will last for many years without requiring replacement or repair.
The dental veneers we offer are custom designed to meet your needs—so you get exactly what you want. We will schedule two appointments with you, the first to take impressions of your teeth and the second to apply and adjust the veneers.

Veneers Have Many Benefits

Veneers not only rejuvenate your smile, but they are also more affordable than crowns. Veneers also provide the following benefits:

  • Only a small amount of tooth enamel needs to be removed
  • Minimal to no discomfort is involved in the process
  • Veneers blend into your other teeth and look natural
  • Despite their thinness, veneers are highly durable and resistant to stains
  • You can choose a color to make dark teeth appear whiter.
  • Chipped teeth can be hidden by using dental veneers
  • Veneers made of porcelain are stain-resistant.

How are veneers done, and how many visits are required?

Consultation

Consultation with a dentist is mandatory for any dental procedure. By doing this, the dentist is able to figure out what your desires and needs are to achieve the smile of your dreams. Together, you and your dentist will decide on the veneers’ size, shape, and shade. After deciding that veneers are the right procedure for you, your dentist will prepare a treatment plan for your next visit.

Preparation

The thin layer of your teeth will be carefully removed or “filed” down to shape the targeted set of teeth. The amount of enamel removed will provide space for veneers to be bonded. Local anesthetics may not be required depending on the patient’s preference and sensitivity, but they are usually administered to make the procedure more comfortable for you. Once a thin layer of enamel has been removed from your teeth, impressions will be taken, which will be sent to the lab for fabrication of veneers; it will take approximately one to two weeks to make the perfect veneers tailored just for you. You will receive temporary veneers at the end of the preparation process that permanent veneers will replace once they are ready.

Bonding

The dentist will inspect the fit, color, and shape of permanent veneers once they have been prepared. Your dentist will make any necessary adjustments so that your teeth fit and look perfect. After adjustments have been made to match your desired appearance, veneers will be permanently cemented onto the teeth! After one or two weeks, it is recommended that you return for a quick check-up of the gums and the veneer’s placement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cosmetic dentistry uses dental veneers and dental crowns to address chips, stains, discolorations, and teeth crookedness. Veneers cover only the front portion of the tooth, while dental crowns cover the entire tooth surface. Although crowns (2 mm) are much thicker than veneers (1 mm), their prices are similar. Damaged teeth are reinforced with crowns, while veneers provide no additional support. In contrast, veneers are a much less invasive procedure and require much less removal of the original tooth structure.
Both veneers and crowns are excellent solutions for patients who want a bright, straight smile that looks and feels natural. Contact our office today to schedule a consultation if you are interested, but not sure which option is right for you.

Porcelain veneers and composite veneers are the two most common types of dental veneers. You can improve the appearance of your smile with either of them.
Veneers made of composite material are made in the office, using tooth-colored resin, and applied directly to the teeth. In addition to being less expensive and quicker to apply than porcelain veneers, they also work well for covering up many aesthetic problems.
Porcelain veneers are custom-made from porcelain to fit your teeth. They are usually made in a laboratory and delivered to our office. After they are applied, we will ensure that your teeth are properly fitted. Due to the strength of the material, porcelain veneers tend to last longer, provide a more natural look, and address larger cosmetic issues such as dark-stained teeth or teeth that are positioned incorrectly.

Veins are generally contraindicated in only a few cases. You probably aren’t a candidate if you grind your teeth at night. As a result, your veneers will chip and wear away quickly when you grind your teeth. In some cases, however, we can provide you with a custom night guard to wear at night to prevent damage to your veneers. A person with gum disease or weak teeth will likely not be a suitable candidate for veneers.
We will discuss any possible contraindications with you during your consultation and ensure that veneers are right for you before treatment begins.
